Wheels of Time 61202 N Scale PC&F 50' Boxcar Texas & Pacific T&P 780647
All new Pacific Car & Foundry 70-ton 50-ft Exterior Post Insulated Boxcars with two different door designs. They feature highly detailed car body and undercarriage, body-mounted knuckle couplers, proper ride height, metal wheels for smooth rolling, multiple authentic car numbers, and Youngstown or Landis Plug door according to the actual boxcar. In likeness of the real thing, Wheels of Time models will also have Keystone cushioning details for boxcars so equipped.
These PC&F 70-ton 50-ft Exterior Post Insulated Boxcars, built in Renton Washington, were prevalent from the late 1960's and through 1980's. They continued on to second hand, third hand and even fourth hand owners into today's railroading.
The Texas & Pacific Railway, a subsidiary of the Missouri Pacific Railroad, received 100 Pacific Car & Foundry insulated boxcars in 1970. They had a rated dimension of 4745 cu. ft. These RBL cars were equipped with Preco load dividers and sidewall fillers. ACF suppled the cushioning device - marketed as "Freight-Saver".
