South Dakota is the battleship of the United States Navy and the nameship of South Dakota class battleship. Equipped with 3 triple turret turrets, 16.9 inches (45 caliber) caliber 16.0 inches (40.6 cm), it was able to navigate with a speed of 27 knots comparable to the Yamato-style battleships of the same generation. Join the South Pacific Battle of the same year in March 1942 and the third Solomon Sea Battle in mid-November.
