Produced by the Chelyabinsk Tractor Plant beginning in the late 1930s, the S-65 was a rugged tracked tractor powered by a diesel engine and became an important workhorse for agriculture, construction, and heavy hauling across the Soviet Union. Its distinctive tracked running gear and utilitarian design also make it an interesting subject for WWII-era dioramas, where Soviet tractors were used in both civilian and military support roles.
