Commissioned in 2017, HMS Queen Elizabeth (R08) represents the largest and most capable warship ever constructed for the Royal Navy and the centerpiece of the modern Queen Elizabeth-class aircraft carrier program. Conceived to restore Britain’s fixed-wing carrier strike capability after the retirement of the Invincible class, she embodies a decisive return to blue-water power projection, built around the F-35B Lightning II and advanced integrated electric propulsion.
