USS New York LPD-21 is a part of the U.S. Navy amphibious transport dock ship. The New York and the other sister ships at the same level of the ship is quite different from the sleek lines of the traditional amphibious ships. Its main function is as a Marine Corps combat equipment air-cushion landing craft (LCAC) and MV-22B Osprey type VTOL the parking and landing platform.
