The Y-5 is a multipurpose aircraft copied and developed by Hongdu Aviation Industry Group on the basis of the An-2. It was used in transportation, ambulance, farming and forestry operation, mineral survey and exploration. It is 12.68 meter long, the upper wing span is 18.18 meter, lower wing span 14.24 meter. The aircraft has a double-wing. The maiden voyage was in December 1957.
