This compact yet formidable tank destroyer represents one of Germany’s most effective late-war armored fighting vehicles. Introduced in 1944 on the reliable Czech-built Panzer 38(t) chassis, the Jagdpanzer 38(t) “Hetzer” combined a low profile, well-sloped armor, and the powerful 7.5cm PaK 39 gun into an economical design capable of ambushing Allied armor from concealed positions. Despite its small size, the Hetzer earned a reputation for being difficult to spot and surprisingly resilient on the battlefield, serving extensively on both the Eastern and Western Fronts during the final year of World War II.
