During its seven-year production period, almost 10,000 units of the IHC / Case 956 XL were produced, making this tractor one of the most successful models of IHC-Case. Belonging to the IHC C-series, the 956 XL had a water-cooled 6-cylinder in-line engine with state-of-the-art direct injection whose output was 95 hp. With a curb weight of 4.3 tons, the 956 XL was one of the models whose production was not relocated to Doncaster, England, but was produced exclusively at the IHC site in Neuss.
