Built to handle long, heavy freight trains on well-maintained mainlines, the prototype’s rugged design proved so successful that many railroads continued operating similar locomotives well into the final years of steam.

This HO scale model features the exceptional detail and smooth-running performance that made the Proto 2000 line highly respected among model railroaders, including a five-pole skew-wound motor, finely applied details, and factory-installed DCC capability.
