Expanding on the success of the highly effective AH-1 Cobra, the AH-64 Apache defined a new era of the attack helicopter concept. Initially developed in the 1970s by several competing manufacturers, the design from Hughes won favor from the US Army for its robust characteristics and would be the winner. The new attack helicopter was successful and is now widely used in multiple nations. The United Arab Emirates purchased AH-64As from the US and 2008 began an upgrade program to bring the aircraft to the current AH-64D standard. This model kit faithfully recreates the AH-64D Apache Saraf Heavy Attack Helicopter in from the Israeli Air Force in 1/35 scale.
