The Kinetic 1/48 F-104J/F-104DJ Starfighter J.A.S.D.F. model kit faithfully recreates the interceptor that formed the backbone of Japan Air Self-Defense Force air defense during the height of the Cold War. Built under license by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, the F-104J was a dedicated all-weather interceptor optimized for defending Japanese airspace, while the two-seat F-104DJ provided advanced pilot training. Renowned for its remarkable speed and climb performance, the Starfighter served the J.A.S.D.F. for more than two decades before being replaced by the F-15J. This highly detailed kit features finely recessed panel lines, accurate single- and two-seat cockpit options, detailed landing gear and wheel wells, and variant-specific parts to build either the F-104J or F-104DJ.
