The Grumman F9F-3 Panther was an early production version of the F9F Panther, one of the U.S. Navy’s first successful carrier-based jet fighters. Although it saw limited production compared to later variants, the F9F-3 played an important role in the Panther’s rapid development during the dawn of the jet age in the late 1940s and early 1950s.
