The Voltaire was a pre-dreadnought battleship of the French Navy, belonging to the Danton class, which were transitional warships built just before the revolutionary British HMS Dreadnought rendered all previous battleship designs obsolete. Despite being outclassed upon completion, Voltaire and her sister ships served with distinction in World War I.
