HK Models 01E044 1/32 B-17G Flying Fortress "Rose of York"
Model Aircraft Kit
The Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress is a four-engine heavy bomber designed for the United States Army Air Corps in the 1930s. Relatively fast and high-flying for a bomber of its time, the B-17 was used primarily in the European theater and dropped more bombs than any other aircraft during World War II
On July 6, 1944 B17G, #42-102547 of 367th Bombardment Squadron of the 306th Bomb Group was named “Rose of York” and was christened by then, Princess Elizabeth. The 18 years old Princess was presented with 2 dozen of York roses at the ceremony.
