The Régie [state-controlled company] emphasized its acceleration and top speed: 90 km/h! Its power, braking, road holding and comfort at such an affordable price ensured its tremendous popularity. Chosen in 1955 by the Paris Police, its color scheme gave rise to the nickname "Voiture Pie".
