The JMSDF Hyūga (DDH-181) is a modern Japanese helicopter destroyer — essentially a light aircraft carrier in all but name — designed to provide anti-submarine warfare (ASW), command-and-control, and disaster relief capabilities for the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force.
