This limited edition set commemorates the Kawanishi E7K1 Type 94 Model 1, a Japanese reconnaissance seaplane introduced in 1935. Known by the Allied reporting name “Alf,” the E7K1 was a three-seat biplane powered by a Hiro Type 91 engine, serving extensively in the Imperial Japanese Navy.

The kit features authentic decals representing the aircraft’s markings as they appeared on the Kamikawa Maru, a special seaplane tender used during the Second Sino-Japanese War. Included in the set is a detailed Kure Type 2 catapult, allowing modelers to recreate the aircraft’s launch from the seaplane tender. With 85 parts and a wingspan of approximately 194 mm, this model offers a rewarding build for enthusiasts and historians alike, bringing to life one of Japan’s key reconnaissance aircraft of the era.
