The 303rd Tactical Fighter Squadron, known as the “Dragon Squadron,” was established in 1977 as part of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF). In 1987, to commemorate their 10th anniversary, the squadron unveiled a special paint scheme on their F-4EJ Phantom II aircraft, featuring distinctive dragon motifs and celebratory markings.
