The Volkswagen Beetle Type 1 “1963 Nippon Grand Prix” took part in Japan’s earliest major circuit racing events during the 1960s, most notably the 1st Japan Grand Prix (All Japan Automobile Club Championship Race) held at Suzuka Circuit on May 3–4, 1963.
