The Toyota 2000GT “Wire Wheel” is a special presentation of Japan’s most iconic sports car, produced between 1967 and 1970 in very limited numbers. Styled by Yamaha and often called Japan’s first true supercar, the 2000GT featured a sleek, low-slung body, a 2.0L DOHC straight-six engine, and performance that rivaled European exotics of its day. The “Wire Wheel” version refers to examples fitted with classic knock-off style wire-spoke wheels, which give the car an elegant, almost European grand touring presence compared to the standard magnesium alloy wheels.
