The Toyota Supra A70 2.5GT Twin Turbo R (1990) was the ultimate performance version of the third-generation Supra, developed as a homologation model for Japanese touring car racing. Powered by the legendary 1JZ-GTE 2.5L twin-turbo inline-six, it produced around 280 PS, delivering smooth but explosive acceleration through a close-ratio 5-speed manual and limited-slip differential. The “Twin Turbo R” also featured a sport-tuned suspension, Recaro seats, leather-wrapped Momo steering wheel, and weight-saving measures that set it apart from regular models. With its muscular styling, advanced tech for the era, and race-bred upgrades, it became a flagship JDM icon and a direct rival to the Skyline GT-R and Fairlady Z.
