Guillows 201 1/14 Thomas Scout 24" Balsa
Display Model Kit
The Thomas-Morse Scout, dubbed the “Tommy,” was a key American biplane of World War I. Designed by Benjamin Douglas Thomas, it first flew in June 1917 as an advanced trainer for the Thomas-Morse Aircraft Company in Ithaca, New York. It had a long and varied career and over 550 were built for the U.S. Signal Corps by 1918, training pilots for combat. Post-war, it served civilian schools and early films, with some restored planes still flying today.
