The Spitfire Mk. V took to the skies in 1941. The aircraft was produced more than any other Spitfire variant and is regarded as outshining the Bf-109 and dominating the skies over Europe until the arrival of the Fw-190. The Mk. V was the staple fighter of the RAF through the summer of 1942, with variants introducing larger engines, armament, and wing types. Taking all variants, 20,351 Mk.Vs aircraft were produced. This model authentically recreates the Spitfire Mk.Vb Overlord in 1/48 scale.
