This HO model of the General Motors Aerotrain may look like something out of the future, but it’s a replica of a unique train introduced more than 50 years ago. Add-on set of three coaches expands the basic prototype.

General Motors built this experimental lightweight train to reduce operating costs and improve passenger comfort. General Motors’ Bus and Coach Division modified its intercity bus design to produce the 40-passenger coaches.
