The F-117 Nighthawk is an American tactical bomber, designed by Lockheed using stealth technology, which allows it to avoid detection by enemy radars. Although officially withdrawn from service in 2008, it remains one of the most fascinating and controversial military machines in history.
The F-117 made its debut in 1983, when the United States Air Force introduced it into service. Its unique design, characterized by sharp edges and flat surfaces, minimized radar echoes, making it nearly invisible to most radars. The aircraft gained fame in military operations such as “Just Cause” in Panama, “Desert Storm” in Iraq, and “Allied Force” in Yugoslavia — wherever precision and the element of surprise were important.
