Pennsylvania Railroad's fleet of H22 and H22a 4-Bay Hoppers have their roots in the huge fleet of H21 hoppers. Bowser brings this unique PRR freight car to HO Scale. Constructed as H21 quad hoppers between 1911 and 1917 these hoppers became a Originally built with clamshell doors they had them replaced during upgrading in the 1920s and with the addition of solid top extensions and 70-ton Crown trucks became class H22A cars and numbered over 3600 strong. After 1930 earlier H22 cars with slats were scrapped over several years. Class H22 and H22A coke hoppers will look right at home on your steam- or early diesel-era layout.
