BLI 2696 HO Scale 6-8-6 Brass Hybrid Steam Turbine Pennsylvania PRR 6200 Paragon3

Capture one of the most ambitious and unconventional steam locomotives ever placed into mainline service. The Pennsylvania Railroad’s sole Class S2, numbered 6200, was built in 1944 by Baldwin and Westinghouse as a bold attempt to extend the future of steam power through turbine technology. With its massive 6-8-6 wheel arrangement and direct-drive steam turbine capable of producing nearly 6,900 horsepower, the prototype delivered extraordinary high-speed performance and remarkably smooth operation, though its enormous appetite for fuel at lower speeds ultimately limited its success. This Brass Hybrid Paragon3 release faithfully reproduces the late-era appearance of the locomotive fitted with the distinctive large smoke deflectors that made the S2 one of the most recognizable experimental locomotives of the postwar era. Featuring a brass body, die-cast chassis, synchronized turbine “whoosh” sound effects, smoke effects, and full Paragon3 DC/DCC sound operation, the model delivers both impressive visual presence and operating realism worthy of this legendary Pennsy experiment.
