BLI 10542 HO Scale EMD F3B Diesel CSXT 119 - Paragon4 (DC/DCC/Sound)

Few locomotives represent the transition from steam to diesel power quite like the EMD F-series. Introduced in the 1940s, these streamlined locomotives helped transform American railroading and quickly became a familiar sight on railroads across North America. Originally designed for freight service, the F-units proved to be incredibly versatile, handling everything from heavy freight trains to some of the most famous passenger trains of their era.

For this production run BLI is building several fan favorite road names and paint schemes, including Santa Fe Warbonnet, Central of New Jersey, CSX YN2, and SP&S Hourglass Scheme.

The EMD F3 is a 1,500 horsepower diesel locomotive built by General Motors' Electro-Motive Division between 1945 and 1949. The F3 was the third model in EMD's successful F-unit series of cab unit diesels, and it was the second most produced of the series behind the F7. The F3's were widely used in both freight and passenger service, and in total, EMD built more than 1,100 A-units and almost 700 B-units.

BLI is offering A-B sets with Powered A-units (w/ Paragon4 Sound) and unpowered B-units, and also separate single A and B-units with full Paragon4 DC/DCC/Sound system. All BLI models have road-specific details and lighting.
