Atlas 10004469 HO Scale EMD SD35 CSX "Grey Scheme" 4525 DCC & Sound
The prototype for this detailed Atlas HO Scale Master Gold EMD SD35 was part of the popular 35-Series which also featured the four-axle, 2,500hp GP35 locomotive. Between 1964 and 1966, EMD built a total of 360 six-axle 2,500hp SD35 locomotives in both low and high-nose versions. An additional 35 steam generator-equipped SDP35 locomotives were also built during this period. All locomotives included the standard EMD 567-series prime mover. A stock model weighed 360,000 pounds, but many roads chose to add weight to increase the locomotive's tractive effort. From the mid-1960s through the 1980s, the SD35 could be found in road service on both large and mid-sized roads across the US and a few remained in service into the 21st century. This detailed model features a low or high nose as appropriate, accurate decoration and roadname-specific detailing. It also features a five-pole, skew-wound motor with dual flywheels, directional LED lighting, Accumate(R) magnetic knuckle couplers, accurate decoration and other roadname-appropriate body details. This replica comes equipped with a dual-mode ESU LokSound sound and DCC decoder for operation on DCC and DC layouts (with limited sound capabilities on in DC operation).
