The AFV Club 1/48 Chung-Cheng F-5F & Tigergazer RF-5E Model Aircraft Kit commemorates two of the Republic of China Air Force’s most significant Tiger II variants, offering markings and details for the F-5F “Chung-Cheng” advanced trainer and the RF-5E “Tigergazer” tactical reconnaissance aircraft. Featuring finely recessed panel lines, a detailed tandem cockpit, clear reconnaissance camera windows for the RF-5E, optional canopy positions, and accurately reproduced external stores, this kit provides an excellent foundation for an authentic ROCAF build. Taiwan’s domestically assembled F-5 fleet formed the backbone of its air defense and pilot training programs for decades, while the RF-5E “Tigergazer” played a critical role in aerial reconnaissance by replacing the fighter’s nose armament with a sophisticated camera suite for intelligence-gathering missions.
