The NM-116 was a uniquely Norwegian modernization of the American M24 Chaffee, developed during the 1970s to extend the service life of existing light tanks while greatly improving their firepower and battlefield effectiveness. Upgraded with a French 90mm low-pressure gun, a modern diesel engine, laser rangefinder, and improved fire-control equipment, the NM-116 remained in frontline service with the Royal Norwegian Army for decades, providing a capable anti-armor platform well suited to Scandinavia’s rugged terrain. This 1/35 scale kit faithfully captures these distinctive modifications with finely detailed exterior components, an accurately reproduced turret and suspension, photo-etched details, and authentic Royal Norwegian Army markings.
