The German EMC (Einheitsmine C) was one of the Kriegsmarine’s standard moored contact mines during World War II, designed to protect harbors, coastal approaches, and strategic shipping lanes. Suspended beneath the surface by a cable attached to a heavy anchor, these mines detonated when a vessel struck one of the protruding contact horns, making them an effective defensive weapon against both warships and merchant shipping throughout the conflict. AFV Club’s 1/35 scale kit includes parts to build four highly detailed EMC Type II naval mines complete with their anchor bases, photo-etched details, cable material, and decals for an authentic finish. Ideal for dockside dioramas, Schnellboot scenes, transport vehicle displays, or coastal defense settings.
