The AFV Club 1/35 Sd.Kfz. 251/20 Uhu Ausf. D Half-Track recreates a specialized night-fighting variant of Germany’s famous armored personnel carrier. Known as the “Uhu” (Owl), this vehicle was equipped with the powerful FG 1250 infrared searchlight and night vision system, allowing German armored units to conduct limited nighttime operations and improve target identification in darkness. Built on the late-war Sd.Kfz. 251 Ausf. D chassis, the Uhu served alongside Panther tanks equipped with infrared equipment to enhance coordinated night combat capability. This highly detailed kit captures the distinctive infrared searchlight assembly, armored half-track design, and late-war features of the Ausf. D variant.
