The M42A1 Duster was a highly mobile self-propelled anti-aircraft vehicle that played an important role during the Vietnam War, providing short-range air defense and devastating ground support firepower. Built on the M41 Walker Bulldog light tank chassis, the M42A1 featured twin 40mm Bofors cannons capable of delivering a high volume of fire against low-flying aircraft and enemy positions. During Vietnam, these vehicles were frequently used in convoy protection, base defense, and infantry support missions, where their powerful guns proved effective against ground targets as well as aircraft.
