The M88A1 Recovery Vehicle, also known as the Bergepanzer in many international references, is one of the most important armored recovery systems of the modern era, designed to keep damaged tanks and armored vehicles operational on the battlefield. Developed from the original M88 recovery vehicle, the M88A1 introduced improved capabilities to support heavier vehicles such as the M60 Patton and early M1 Abrams, featuring enhanced power, lifting capacity, and recovery equipment.
