A supersonic aircraft with variable geometry wings, the Grumman F-14 Tomcat twin-engine aircraft seats two crew members, an aviator, and a Radar Intercept Officer. The Tomcat has only ever operated with the US Navy as well as the Islamic Republic of Iran. The nickname of “Tomcat” stems from the call sign of Vice Admiral Thomas Connolly who ascribed to the USN’s tradition of naming Grumman aircraft with feline monikers. On board the USS Theodore Roosevelt, VF-84 made its debut in December '90 to assist with the combat efforts of Operation Desert Shield, which evolved into Operation Desert Storm. This kit contains plastic parts with two finishing options for a faithful recreation of the F-14A, in 1/144 scale. The fully assembled model is 13.4cm long and 3.6cm tall.
