Developed for scouting and as a light and dive bomber, numerous variants of the "Dauntless" operated throughout WWII with the US Marine Corps, Army, and Navy. The Douglas Dauntless served as the US Navy's primary bomber in the Pacific and served in every major operation. The Dauntless dive-bomber grew into one of the most celebrated aircraft of WWII, with 5,936 having been constructed in all variants. This model authenticates the USN SBD-2, which took part in the Battle of Midway, in 1/48 scale. The assembled model is 21.6cm long and 9.8cm tall.
