She enjoyed a few milestones in her life, including the first ever jet aircraft carrier landing, and a record crossing off the Pacific in 81\/2 days upon the outbreak of the Korean War when transporting aircraft and troops to Korea. The carrier had three tours of duty in Korea before she was transformed into an interim amphibious assault ship (LPH-4) on January 30 1959.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt’s this helicopter carrier guise as LPH-4 that Dragon’s new 1\/700 scale kit represents.
